The Theta 76 HS is installed and up and running. Below are the benefits of our new machine. We no longer have the Epsilon, from what we heard it was shipped to some where in Singapore.
  • The Theta 76 HS prints at 24" per minute compared to 4.5" per minute on the Epsilon.
  • The Theta 76 HS has the processor built onto the unit, so it will also process the prints as well. On the Epsilon, it was a roll to roll machine, of which we had to manually cut out and load, so as you can see this will be a time saver.
  • The Theta 76 HS also has a built in cutter, so printed images, will not only come out processed, but cut too.
  • Improving off the rock solid performance and engineering of the Epsilon, the Theta uses a similar LED technology, but focusing and fiber optic enhancements have improved the sharpness of the prints off the Theta compared to the Epsilon.
  • In house turnaround times for orders will definitely shorten due to the expedited work flow, as well as late last minute orders that we could not turn around for clients as it was impossible to print and ship, will now be possible.
  • A work flow improvement example: Currently, the Epsilon can print approximately 15 20x30's per hour. The Theta 76 HS will print, process and cut approximately 70 20x30's per hour.
Please feel free to ask questions on the Theta.

I just send an email asking for the test picture to be emailed to me and hard copies sent for comparison so I can calibrate my monitor to creat a profile for your output. Will this new printer now require a new profile and new calibration to the current one?

To honestly answer your question, yes. Once the new printer is in house, we will create the new profile and have it available for all of you to download. It should not be drastically different than what we currently have, though we will be using a different profiling software suite...more modern, so there will definitely be some difference, especially in the pure reds and blues.

Will the new printer also have a maximum resolution of 254ppi?

Drew, yes the new Theta will be the exact same resolution as the Epsilon, 254dpi. Though due, to fiber optic enhancements and a focusing change the imaging is sharper than on the Epsilon. I have attached the PDF file for the new machine for you to look at. We have purchased the Theta HS without the cutter.

Is the Theta on line and in production? If not, any idea of when?

Sadja, the Theta was installed at the begining part of this week, we are finalizing the profiles to make available to you guys for softproofing. As of today, Friday, April 27th, all the poster special orders are being printed on the Theta 76. Keep checking the poster special web page for updates. Our primary concern at the moment is finalizing the profiles and then catching up on the backlog of orders, once that is complete the web page will be updated.
